AusStudy is an Australian government payment that helps eligible students with living costs while they study full-time.

Who Can Get AusStudy

You may be eligible if you:

• Are an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or protected special category visa holder
• Are studying full-time at an approved Australian educational institution
• Are aged 16–24 years old (some exceptions apply for older students)
• Meet residency requirements (usually living in Australia for 2 years)
• Pass the income and assets test
